How Do I Join?

Trinity Lodge welcomes membership enquiries but before making an enquiry to become a Freemason it is important that you appreciate what will be required of you, therefore please read below to appreciate the value of Freemasonry in modern society, the role that it can play in your self improvement, and to ensure that you can embrace our Principles and the ancient Landmarks of the Fraternity.

Who Can Be A Freemason?

Any man who is at least 18, is law-abiding, of good character and believes in the the exisitence of a Supreme Being, no matter by what name He is called, or what faith the person professes, is eligible. The order is not restricted to Protestants: it is open to all men of all faiths, such as Jews, Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs etc. Contrary to popular belief, the Order has many Roman Catholics in its membership. No atheist can become a Freemason.

Members must never use their Freemasonry as a means of gaining preferment for themselves or any other person. Any attempt to do so could, and does, result in expulsion from membership

In the first instance it is suggested that you visit the section ‘Freemasonry’ and if after visiting and exploring our site and maybe reading other articles you are further interested in becoming a Freemason, we suggest you first talk to a family member, friend or colleague whom you already know to be a Freemason; they will be able to explain to you what they can about the fraternity.

If you don’t know anyone who is a member, then get in touch with The Trinity Lodge. You will need to explain a little bit about yourself and your reasons for wishing to join. Arrangements will be made to meet you socially to find out more about you, and to give you a chance to find out more about us. You would then in due course be invited to meet a committee of members, prior to being balloted for membership of that Lodge.

All being well, a date would then be fixed for your admission.
